Privacy Policy
Effective date: 19 May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how TagChanger (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information when it is installed on your store. By installing or using TagChanger you agree to the practices described below.
What the app does
TagChanger helps merchants consolidate inconsistent product tag prefixes and suffixes across their catalog. It only operates on data within the merchant’s own store, and only at the merchant’s explicit request.
Information we access
- Store identifier and OAuth session tokens. Required to authenticate API calls back to your store. Stored encrypted in our database.
- Product data (titles and tags). Read on demand from your store via the Admin API in order to display and modify tags. Product data is not persisted in our database; it is held in memory only for the duration of the request.
- Operational logs. Anonymous server logs (timestamps, request paths, error messages) used to diagnose and improve the service. These do not contain customer personal data.
We do not access, store, or process customer personal information (names, emails, addresses, orders, payment data, etc.).
How we use information
- To authenticate API calls between the app and your store.
- To display your product tags inside the app interface.
- To apply the tag changes that you explicitly choose and confirm.
- To troubleshoot errors and maintain reliability of the service.
Data storage and security
Session data is stored on infrastructure operated by Vercel (hosting) and Neon (PostgreSQL database). Both providers offer encryption at rest and in transit. Access to production credentials is restricted to the app developer.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The only external services involved are the hosting and database providers listed above, who act solely as infrastructure providers.
Data retention and deletion
When you uninstall the app, Shopify sends an app/uninstalled webhook that triggers deletion of your session record. If you would like us to confirm deletion or remove any remaining data manually, contact us at the email below.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the data we hold about your store, or request its deletion, by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
